How it works
A pet's daily food needs depend on more than just weight — neuter status, activity level, and age all matter. This tool uses the veterinary-standard RER formula (70 × weight^0.75). DER (daily energy requirement) multiplies RER by an activity factor, then converts to grams using the food's calorie density per 100g (from the package label).
FAQ
Q. Where do I find kcal per 100g on the food?
A. Check the 'metabolizable energy (ME)' or calorie label on the back of the bag — typically 300–420 kcal per 100g.
Q. Should I feed it all at once?
A. No — split the calculated daily total into 2–3 meals. Growing or sensitive-stomach pets benefit from even more frequent, smaller meals.
