How it works

EVs lose battery efficiency in cold weather, and cabin heating draws from the same battery — both shrink winter range. This estimates the drop using ~0.8% efficiency loss per °C below 25°C, heater intensity, and whether a heat pump is fitted.

FAQ

Q. Why is a heat pump more efficient?

A. Unlike a PTC resistive heater, a heat pump moves and compresses ambient heat, producing more warmth per unit of electricity.

Q. Does using just the seat heater help?

A. Yes — it uses far less power than heating the whole cabin, reducing range loss.
